The affinity of the hot melt glue to different bonded materials is different. In order to make the hot melt adhesive perform better "stickiness", the following factors should be carefully considered in selecting the hot melt adhesive. The affinity of hot melt adhesives for different bonding materials is different. In order for the hot melt adhesive to exhibit better "stickiness", the following factors should be carefully considered when choosing a hot melt adhesive.
(1) Color
Due to the different colors of adhesives, the color requirements for hot melt adhesives should also be different. If there is no special requirement for the color of the adherend itself, it is recommended to use yellow hot melt adhesive. In general, yellow hot melt adhesives are thicker than white ones.
(2) Surface treatment of the adherend
The surface treatment of hot melt adhesive to the material to be adhered is not as strict as other adhesives, but the dust and oil stains on the surface of the material to be adhered should also be properly treated, so that the hot melt adhesive can play a better role in bonding.
(3) Working hours
Fast operation is a major feature of hot melt adhesives. The working time of hot melt adhesive is generally about 15 seconds. With the wide application of modern production methods and assembly lines, the working time required for hot melt adhesives is getting shorter and shorter.
(4) Temperature resistance
Hot melt adhesives are temperature sensitive. When the temperature reaches a certain level, the hot melt adhesive begins to soften; below a certain temperature, the hot melt adhesive will become brittle, so the choice of hot melt adhesive must fully consider the changes in ambient temperature.
(5) Viscosity
The viscosity of hot melt adhesive is divided into early tack and late tack. Only early tack and late tack can stabilize hot melt adhesives and adherends. In the production process of hot melt adhesive, it should be guaranteed to have anti-oxidation, anti-halogen, anti-acid and plasticity.
